Our Curriculum

At Portfields Primary, our curriculum is designed to ignite a passion for learning within a vibrant and inclusive environment. We believe every child deserves to feel valued, respected and empowered to Connect, Lead, Strengthen their knowledge, and Inspire others.

Our curriculum is underpinned by the fundamental principles of equality and diversity, ensuring all learners feel celebrated for their unique backgrounds and perspectives. We offer a rich tapestry of learning experiences that celebrate our cultural richness (over 30 languages spoken!), educate young minds, and challenge them to become kind and respectful citizens.

Intent:

  • Inclusion: We use a variety of resources and cater to individual learning styles, ensuring everyone is involved and valued equally.
  • Engagement: We provide a stimulating learning environment that fosters curiosity and a love of learning.
  • Challenge: Our curriculum offers opportunities to challenge and motivate learners, building their resilience and confidence.

Implementation:

  • Specialist Facilities: Explore creativity in our music room, master technology in the computer lab, connect with nature at the forest school, hone culinary skills in the bistro, and learn in our engaging outdoor classrooms.
  • Expert Staff: Our dedicated teachers continuously develop their expertise through high-quality professional development (CPD), both internally and externally.
  • Enrichment Programs: Specialised teaching in PE and languages, alongside educational trips, residential visits, and inspiring guest speakers, provide opportunities to challenge, motivate, and build resilience.

Situated in the heart of Newport Pagnell, Portfields is a welcoming community school attracting families from within and beyond our catchment area. We are incredibly proud to be the first School of Sanctuary in Milton Keynes, a testament to our commitment to inclusivity and celebrating diversity.
