We kick started our new topic of 'Blood Heart' with a gruesome WOW day. The children had the opportunity to dissect a sheep heart. They looked at the different parts of the heart during the guided dissection.
This enthused them for the topic ahead which was science based. The children learned about the components of blood, blood types, muscles in the body and the digestive system.
Design and Technology
As part of this topic, the children sewed their own heart cushions made of felt. They used a range of sewing techniques including blanket stitch, running stitch and appliqué.
The children's patience and hard work paid off - the result was outstanding!
