At Portfields Primary School we feel that homework is an additional learning opportunity. The aim of our homework is to build on the learning in school.
Below are our expectations of homework throughout the school
EYFS
- Daily reading (minimum of 5x per week)
- Optional home learning activities shared weekly via Tapestry
Year 1 & 2
- Daily reading (minimum of 5x per week)
- Weekly spelling practise
Year 3 & 4
- Daily reading
- Weekly spelling practise (minimum of 5x per week)
- Timetables practise
Year 5 & 6
- Daily reading
- Weekly spelling practise (minimum of 5x per week)
- Weekly reading/grammar & maths
