PARENT PARTNERSHIP AT PORTFIELDS
At Portfields we recognise the importance of parents as partners in our pupils' learning. We encourage parents to get involved in the life of the school, acknowledging the valuable contribution they can make.
We have many parents who volunteer to help, both in school and on school trips. Support from parents can be in the way of hearing children read, helping children to develop their social skills, aiding understanding in the classroom or sharing of parent expertise.
We invite parents to attend sharing times, school performances, music concerts, year group assemblies, open evenings and our end of year prize giving. In this way, we are able to share the fantastic work we do in our school, whilst developing our relationship with parents.
Parents are invited to attend two parents' evenings each year. We are committed to sharing information about attainment and progress in a clear and easily understandable manner. Our home/school partnership is vital in helping our children to achieve their full potential.
Parents' views are important to us. Our annual questionnaire helps us to gain a better understanding of parents' perceptions of the school. We have a suggestions and comments box at reception for parents and encourage all our parents to make use of it.
